You heard me... If you’re healthy, not infected with Hepatitis X, Y or Z, not carrying any STDs, have not been eating any crazy cows lately, then I want you!
But most important of all, you must have a big heart – if you literally have one, that’s even better!
If you have the time this weekend, please spare a moment for SP Alumni’s BLOOD DONATION DRIVE to replenish the Blood Bank’s dwindling supply due to the fasting (Ramadhan) month.
Details:
Date: 8 October 2006 (Sunday)
Time: 09:30 – 15:30
Venue: Sekolah Menengah Sri Permata (SM Seaport High School)
SS3 Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya
The campaign will be officiated by some Dato’ and some ex- MBPJ Councillor, I think, but who gives a dem about these politicians, eh?
Kind souls who are willing to lend their arms to be poked by KLGH’s beautiful nurses will be given a cup of hot Milo, some biscuits and slices of fruit cakes, iron pills if you feel nauseated, and the best of all, a certificate as a proof of your bravery!
I’d love to join but unfortunately I’m fasting... I shall contribute right after Raya when there’ll be plenty more people in the ER as a result of driving on Semi Value’s highway during the mass holiday exodus. So come over this weekend and bring yourjuicy ass able bodies!

Why? Because they deserve a life too…

Ever wondered what ever happened to the cute girl who sat next to you back in Standard 1? Or the jerk who used to pull your hair every recess? It has been that many years since we left primary school... Or secondary school for that matter.
Every now and then... I still wonder whatever happened to people I know like LAM Yoke Yen (if I remember correctly, she moved to Taiwan back in 1986), Mark CHONG, Ezral, HO Ching Lit, LEE Mun Fei, Manimaran and many more...?
This is also what made me start this blog... With the hope it will help connect one friend to another. After all, we are SEAPORTIANS. We are one of the few lucky ones to be able to call ourselves Seaportians (since the school is now called Sri Permata).
If you are like me and do wonder whatever happened to someone, just leave the name of the person, a brief description of the person (if you can still remember) and perhaps leave a contact so that the person you are looking for may contact you.
And if you happen to be the person or knows the person we are looking for, do ask them to drop by and leave a message in the comments...

On behalf of the committee, I would like to thank you for your patience and continuous support for this organization. I am confident that this Alumni will play an even greater role in the future under the leadership of the new committee.

Guys and girls,
I know this is not really related to the school... But just thought this is worth sharing. Since we have lots of friends scattered all over the country, I thought this would be a good thing to share... Help you guys save some money...
In case you didn't know, AirAsia recently announced they would be giving out 2 000 000 (that's 2 million) free seats. Until today, they still have about 800 000 seats more to give out.

To make your life easier (because to find the free tickets, you have to try out different combination of departure and return dates), I managed to get a few dates which still provide free tickets. As you can see, there are various destinations... You really need the high-resolution image to see the dates and destinations clearly.

click for large high-res photo
So enjoy... But you better hurry. As you can see from the first image above, offer ends on the 28th Dec 2005. Also, free here means you do not need to pay for the ticket but you will still need to pay for the airport tax.

I know a few of the regular visitors to this site do not actually come from Sek Men Seaport. Some were former students who 'migrated' over to Sek Men Keb Kelana Jaya. Others are, as the title of this site says it all... Friends of Sek Men Seaport.
Anyway, if you are one of those who migrated to Sek Men Keb Kelana Jaya, you should be proud. You guys and girls seem to have a better web presence. Check it out at www.smkkelanajaya.com.

As the school is located in Kelana Jaya (please correct me if I'm wrong here), I thought I'd also check out sites about the area.
It seems there is a website for Kelana Jaya. However, it will not be available at the moment cause the site has just been hacked. Yup, you read it here first. Kelana Jaya site was hacked.

As I have told many before (those who asked me for opinion on setting up a website), there are a few things to consider or do, if you want to have a website:
- make sure it is always up-to-date
- make sure it is available all the time (or at least 99.5% of the time)
- make sure it is secure
- if you don't know how to do the above, get someone who does
With www.kelanajaya.com, the company they got to host the site should really look into security. What company is that? I don't want to get into any trouble (defamation, etc), but snoop around and you'll bound to find the answer (else wait for my article on this in Tech Tipz - I do not promise when this article will be out, but it will be...).
FYI, I checked out the webhost's website. I have to say - NOT IMPRESSIVE for a company that's supposed to specialise in web-hosting and web-design.
Anyway, back to this site... I guess it should be back to normal in a day or two.
(p/s: if the site owner is reading this... i'm available as a site consultant)

Putting this up as a request from WONG Yoke Mei. This puppy is about 4-6 months old and is found abandoned at the roadside near her house in SS5, Kelana Jaya. Any kind soul out there interested in adopting this female puppy?

I personally can't take this puppy in as I have just gotten one recently.
Please leave your contacts details here in the comments and please feel free to pass the word around (you can use this URL - http://seaport.adriantai.com/2005/10/misc-puppy-for-adoption.htm).

Just to inform everyone that the webmaster is very serious about making the website a success. He is also very proactive and have corrected the few 'bugs' I have highlighted to him.
However, I have to agree with Kim Leong as well that the site still looks amatuerish.
Any web developers out there who can help make us proud of our online presence? Please volunteer your services...

Yup, in case you did not know, our school has got a website.
Visited it about 5mins ago and I have to say that it is not really impressive. In fact, it is downright disgraceful... Images that cannot be loaded, etc... With so many students graduating from the school, I fail to see how this can happen.
Now, please don't go thinking that I'm arrogant or anything like that... But I would at least think that links to images, etc would have been tested out first before being published.
Anyway, have put in my suggestion and comments on the website. And volunteered to do whatever I can.
I'm not really a web-developer, so I can't really help out much, but perhaps some kind soul out there can make our school proud (online or otherwise). If you think you can help out with the coding, design, etc, I'm very sure the school would appreciate it. Visit the school at http://www.sripermata.edu.my.

Guys and gals!!!
Thank you so much for passing the word around and providing leads to other Seaportians (and friends of Seaport). I was very surprised to receive an email from Choong Hor today!
I plan to put up a list of contacts I have later on (perhaps a few months down the road). In the meantime, if you have not provided me your email, it would be great it you can do so. I can be reached via the webmaster link or at adrian@adriantai.com
You can also leave 'message' by using the COMMENTS feature.
Once again, thank you so much for helping to pass the word around... And for still wanting to keep in touch!
QUESTION:
Should we rename to Friends of Seaport? Or maintain Friends of Sek Men Seaport?
***********************************
NOTE:
I decided to name this site Friends of Seaport as many of us probably know each other but might not have been from Seaport. I mean no offence to people who were not from Seaport but are still very much a part of it.
I hope these friends will not mind the name Seaport being used. And in all fairness, Seaport don't exist anymore, anyway...
