Nope, have not kept in touch with Taekwondo buddies, except for Chee Wai who is my sister-in-law, and Mr. Tai. (Have I left out anyone?)

I don't have the 1993 yearbook anymore. So I can only check the 1992 yearbook. I did not buy yearbooks, save RM 10 back then. My 1992 was borrowed from a friend.
In Jupiter, I like to hang out with the chess president. We were GOOD friends back then and we played computer games. I also like to go out with THE MUSCLEMAN. So wat about u ? Who do u hang around with ?

No No No No Kit Yieng, I remember that you were in SS2 Mc Donalds for a while but later you continued to work with them for longer time and eventually you ended up at the one in Subang Parade. Initially you were there. I saw you. The SS2 one only for very very short while.
Me IGNORANCE ...... YEAH That was me. Cos in Seaport many people accuse of things that I am NOT. So too busy defending my ground. Haha !
Oh so you lost contact with Ee Ling, Bee Foon. I saw Bee Foon with her hubby in the arcade in Sungei Wang 3 years back. He and she looked like students having fun. It was in the afternoon. She looked exactly the same as she was before. Not many changes in Bee Foon. At that time I was with another 2 Seaportarians and WE WERE NOT INTERESTED, HAHAHA. Too BUSY with our own FUN.
Tell me Kit Yieng, how do they make the TWISTER ..... I love those.
OK ENOUGH OF YESTER YEARS ...... TELL ME ABOUT WHAT U DOING NOW. . . . . . I know another Seaport dude who is a HARDCORE WOW and he likes to trade gold for $$$ from the game. Is ur husband into WOW ?

OMG I just noticed. You brought your yearbook with you to the US. YUCKS ..... well I did not even bother buying them in the first place.
Here is my list of bad memories:
1989: Form 1. Forced to join Scouts and what kena bully my Seniors
1990: Form 2. Sejarah was my favourite. But this passionwas not shared by others, so left cheering on my own.
1991: Ok after school, its playign electronics and doing some cool modifications on my RM 1698 Hi FI, for a student this is a lot bro. I blew out another friend's tweeter, hahaha.
1992: Year when I understood POLITICS when I met THE ENGLISH TEACHER. And people have a WEIRD WAY OF ACCUSSING WHO U ARE NOT. Of Course today, we can let their own accusation make idiots out of them. Hahaha POLITICS IS AN ART TO ME.
1993: OMG SPM year. To me it was a FIGHT FOR DIGNITY AND A VICTORY AGAINST THE REST OF SEAPORT. I MUST BEAT ALL OF THEM. MUST SINCE THEY are happily accusing me of who I am not.
Well I did not BUY all the YEAR BOOKS. Cos there is nothing NICE in school to recall.
But I am thinking of RECREATING A GLORIFYING PAST IN A HIGH SCHOOL that is without all the bad things. A place where I CAN SHOW TO MY FUTURE FRIENDS THAT I WAS THE MODEL STUDENT.
I have not worked that one out yet but hey, I am sure that WITH THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF $$$$, YOU CAN PAY GRAPHICS DESIGNER AND story board writers to CREATE for you A GLORIFYING PAST , ONE THAT YOU CAN BE PROUD OF AND have all 5 YEAR BOOKS PRINTED AND HARD BOUND.
Something like this http://www.adelaidehs.sa.edu.au/
I think that is the site of a pretigious australian high school.
I am sure with the right amount of $$$$, you can hire great story writers to recreate the LIFE of a MODEL student in the setting of A PRESTIGIOUS HIGH SCHOOL. And put that in 5 year BOOKS. Every detail in those books are the experiences WHICH U CAN PROUDLY, ARROGRANTLY SHOW TO your future friends.
And to ensure that the teachers will ADMIT THAT WHAT YOU HAVE TO SHOW IS AUTHENTIC, HOW ABOUT A GENEROUS DONATION TO THAT SCHOOL OF CHOICE.
I look forward to that. I always wanted to know what would people think of me when I tell them that I was in the school debate and I have all the trophies to show for and the people in that school to collaborate that CLAIM.
I always say to myself. IF YOU CANNOT HAVE A PAST YOU WANT NATURALLY, CREATE IT in the future. It is the same like .... if you have no PATH .... BOLDLY MAKE UR OWN !
You know when people ask me about high school, there are a lot things which I LOVE TO TELL THEM but I cant. I WANT TO CHANGE THAT BY THE WAY !

Would you like in the year books that Mr Brody (the discipline master) awarded you with an award for being the most HOURABLE HEAD PREFECT. I am sure you do ! :) All can be done. I never like those plastic gold painted trophies that they give from Seaport. Looks cheap and cornish. You know those plastic gold ones with a wooden bottom. And the wood was painted. Tey cut a piece from the carpet to stick it at the bottom of the wood to make the base of the troph.
But nevermindlah, I am sure that a Pretigious School will award something nicer and looks more authentic. I like mind to be in pewter painted in gold paint that is smooth like the ones they use for your car.
Kit Yieng,
You won't find me in any albums cos I avoided the cameras.

Hello Kit Yieng,
Wow, nice to hear from you. Adrian's doing a good job linking everyone together :)
We hardly talked much during schooltime - guess just hanging out with different groups of people, but I do remember you and the other people you mentioned (Yen Hua, etc..)
Hope you are doing well over there!

You should meet up with your old friend from 5 Jupiter. Patch things up and remember the GOOD OLD TIMES you all had together. The one you had an arguement with in the PAST. I don't know what you guys said to one another but that was 10 years ago.
He seldom comes here. But I think that people shud and will forget and forgive. He never gave yup the lifestyle in 1993, still living it, only he went BETTER AND GREATER.
In short he still drives a CAR from A to B but now his CAR is bigger and faster. He mentioned about you sometimes. Like I said it has been 10 years.
What is behind US is not matter but what lies AHEA is what that is important.

Kim Leong,
Just to let you know, at one of of his life, he became a trekker. Spend RM 400 on a Season 2 of Star Trek TNG. Cos star trek was about peace and harmony and how that technology was used in a good manner to promote peace. He LOVED that idea and in many ways he tried to used what he was developing here to help do just that. He developped tonnes of web applications and charged people USD 10 for it. Which were dirt cheap and at one time they even reviewed his work in an international site. Cant recall what it was. And after that a few of his work was pirated. Yes you can buy in at IMBI plaza.
But his idea is to help people and make the world a better place by diffusing the conflcit before it even started.
He likes to enjoy conversation about almost anything contrversial or not.
Myself and HIM were GOOD frens for 9 years + since 1997. Still is my fren. If you are a World of Warcraft fan then you might be able to catch him.
We like to help each other and we share stuffs using either my ftp or his ftp. He is A FRESOURCE GUY. LINUX MAN. And yes he too has his own PC Network like me. But I am PRO WINDOWS :D
We hang out in low yat, imbi, pyramid and any place with an IT center every now and then. During the Release of The Matrix movie in 1999, religious elements were brought in. So in the spirit of things we NICKNAMED LOWYAT AS THE SHRINE.

Atai/Kit Yieng,
Wow, looking at that photo really brings to mind a lot of people. What happened to Hezry (the one in the middle of the photo - is that the correct spelling)? He was one of the funny guys in the class :)

Last I heard he was heading out station for work. Where? I cant remember.

This is what greets you when you walk into the school:

My first thought was "Has the students from this school gotten that bad?". Then I realised that the message could be meant for the teachers...
Anyway, somethings never change... Which is sometimes good... The canteen remains the way I remembered it...

Food has gotten better, I guess, from the menu that was posted...

Anyway, back to the AGM... In case you never realised, the Alumni's registered name is actually - THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF SEKOLAH MENENGAH SRI PERMATA PETALING JAYA SELANGOR. *phew*
Good news is we've adopted a shorter name during the AGM - SP Alumni.
The turnout was rather bad, in my opinion considering that the school's been around for more than 20 years and less than 30 people attended the AGM. Oh well, things can only get better.
We have a new committee and they seem very, very serious about getting the Alumni up and running. So I sincerely hope everyone here will give their full support as well. Like any society or organisation, they need our support - be it financially or morally. So do register as a member, ok?
Honestly, there's not much to say about the AGM. The minutes should be up on the Alumni website in a week or two. It will probably be Zaifuddin's first task anyway... Yes, Zaifuddin (or Dean) has been elected Honorary Secretary.
I guess that's all for now...

Seen here are two ex-students saying to each other "Syabas kerana anda hadir ke sekolah"

Going back to Seaport is like journeying through a time capsule. The journey back has been both a nostalgic and sweet reminder of good and bad events.
It was like the feeling that Captain Picard had in Star Trek First Contact when he touched the Phoenix Warp Ship, the very first warp ship to be built. To him, it was both a nostalgic and present reality but all that was in the past. What is it like to meet the man who built the first Warp Ship, shake his hand and touch the ship. Although primitive in his many standards but nevertheless it was the first of a NEW ERA and the marking of a NEW REVELEATION. And he just touch that revelation with his hands. That must be A GREAT FEELING. And he had the opportunity to experience what he read in booksm the life of the late 21st century. The ordinary life of the 20th century. And despite his highly advance Enterprise - E, the inspiration it brought, the meaning, the idea it carried within the shells of her hull was NOTHING compared to the Phoenix warp ship.
For me Seaport was like that. It was the place when I developed many of the techniques which I still used today, although now more advance but that was where they started. I first learnt about flow graphs from physics and it is now highly adopted in my work as a NORM. But that is where it all began. Corporate politics, gossips, defamation and all the stuffs you see in your work today began there too for me.
When I steped into Seaport, I felt a surge of reminders that tells me that everything I knew today has its roots in the primitive, worn down brick walls. It was a nostalgic experience. So many has changed there but to me, it will be always the Seaport in 1993. Amen . . . . . :)

You are not the only wrong who mistook the person in the photo. I too initially thought that it was Thambi Loong. Oops :)
The canteen looks so much nicer with the nice tables and chairs. I remember the chairs were lousy rotting wooden ones, and there was always no place to sit. Mee back then was 50 sen (IINM) and used to always stand where ever there is standing space to eat :)
Great stuff Atai. Keep this up!
P/s : BTW, does anyone know what happened to all those Jogathon money that we've collected? Buy the plastic table and chairs?

Ever wondered what ever happened to the cute girl who sat next to you back in Standard 1? Or the jerk who used to pull your hair every recess? It has been that many years since we left primary school... Or secondary school for that matter.
Every now and then... I still wonder whatever happened to people I know like LAM Yoke Yen (if I remember correctly, she moved to Taiwan back in 1986), Mark CHONG, Ezral, HO Ching Lit, LEE Mun Fei, Manimaran and many more...?
This is also what made me start this blog... With the hope it will help connect one friend to another. After all, we are SEAPORTIANS. We are one of the few lucky ones to be able to call ourselves Seaportians (since the school is now called Sri Permata).
If you are like me and do wonder whatever happened to someone, just leave the name of the person, a brief description of the person (if you can still remember) and perhaps leave a contact so that the person you are looking for may contact you.
And if you happen to be the person or knows the person we are looking for, do ask them to drop by and leave a message in the comments...

Any comments?

Thanks. Will contact you shortly.
Viji,
Did think of that, but you must understand... Some still prefer to have their contact 'hidden'. i found out over the past few weeks many do drop by regularly, but never 'appeared' anywhere (chat, comment, etc). and i don't even realise that coz I dun even have their email address.
All-in-all, they want to remain low profile. But yes, I do hope to work towards sth like that.
But maybe that will be the official ALUMNI's job. :)

I agreed with Vijiandran, we ought to setup some sort of database here. It is easier to keep in touch that way. On top of that, it generates a sense of community here.
I understand the concern of privacy due
to their celebrity status...(ok, i take that back, some folks might not think that is a joke)
so maybe we can setup a system that can facilitate their need of privacy. For example:
Assuming that i am a celebrity, therefore in the database, you will only see this:
Choonghor
Tel: Upon Request
Email:Upon Request
Prefered method of contact: Email notification
Just a suggestion...

LIM Li Ping would like to get in touch with the rest of the gang. She has asked to put up this message as she wants to get in touch with everyone after 'dropping out of the scene' for quite sometime.
Li Ping has now started her own law firm somewhere in Mutiara Damansara. Yes, she is a lawyer, for those who did not realise.
Anyway, if you want to seek her service or just simply ask her out for yumcha (she is the boss, so she can yumcha anytime la), Li Ping can be contacted 012 3396690.
You can also drop your messages for her in the comments section.
