Happy Birthday, Shin Yee!

#Happy birthday to you…
Happy birthday to you…
Happy birthday to Shin Yee…!!!
Happy birthday to you…#

Welcome to the 30s, my friend… heh heh…

Shin Yee is someone whom I have known for a long, long time through a mutual friend - CHEN Yen Yen (last I heard, she’s in Singapore). Shin Yee is one really gila girl (hence the link called Psycho Girl in one of my sites) but she’s also one really great friend. If she’s not laughing away, she’s not Shin Yee. That’s how I will describe her.

How time flies for all of us. It seemed like only yesterday when we were in Standard 4. I believe that was the first time we were in the same class. If I’m not mistaken, you were sitting somewhere behind me. I was sitting next to Yin Fay (ok, where is this girl anyway?!). Then there’s Standard 6 - TBS. IGC. FFF. Anyone still keeping those books?!

What’s the point of bringing up all this? Well, it’s just a way to say that we can now say this, “Those were the days…”.

We’re now in the 30s! Happy birthday once again!!!

By the way, this is NOT a subtle hint…

Photos: Kayu Mini Gathering
by atai @ 18:17 | Comments (8) | Filed under: gatherings

Meeting up with old friends is always fun. There’s always a lot to catch up with and yet, so little time. I guess many of us who showed up on Friday night felt that way.

From left to right, we have:
Kim Chuan (*), Dean, Eu Jin, Winnie, Tzeh Kang, Chin Ling (partially hidden), Alfred (*), Irene, Mun San, Jude (*), Sherman, Kok Loong, Ah B, Chih Hsiung and Peck Yen.
(*) means the person is standing in the photo.

Winnie managed to sell the charity coupons to a few of us… Here’s how generous Chih Hsiung can be:

Winnie, you may use this photo as evidence that you’re fully committed to your company… Just remember me when you get your HUGE pay rise.

Oh ya Winnie… Thank you for the dried mangoes. I guess everyone enjoyed them…

Here’s another photo of the gang…

You can also find more photos from Dean’s blog at http://deanarif.blogspot.com.

Well, hope that these photos will make you want to join us for the next mini gathering. We’re not sure when or where… But we will definitely need your support and suggestions (karaoke, anyone?!). Till next time…

TSA-KDU Charity Carnival 2006
by atai @ 8:17 | Comments (0) | Filed under: misc

Total Sports Asia (TSA) in collaboration with KDU College have embarked on a mission to bring some cheer to some children and the senior citizens. We are jointly organizing a Charity Carnival with the sale of food & bric-a-brac, appearances & performances by local celebrity & selected CLEO Bachelors 2006, and games and entertainment.

All proceeds from this event will be channeled towards the adoption of Yayasan Sunbeams Home & Phyllis Caring Home. The funds collected will be used to provide these homes with the necessities required for the upkeep of the homes and its occupants.

Yayasan Sunbeams Home
No. 54, Jalan Bunga Melor 16A, Taman Mawar,
56100, Kuala Lumpur.
Phone: 03-42953949 / 42967030 / 42960867
Contact Person: Pastor Victor Maniam

Yayasan Sunbeams Home – located in Taman Mawar Cheras, this facility houses 50 children. A foster home to orphanages and less privileged children and a center for troubled youths, this center is in need of beds, a fridge, a washing machine & consumables.

Phyllis Caring Home
No. 19 Jln 12/12,
Petaling Jaya,
46200, Selangor D.E.
Phone: 03-79560799
Contact Person: Mdm Phyllis Nathan

Phyllis Caring Home – located in Section 12, Petaling Jaya houses about 20 senior citizens. With little or nothing to fend for themselves, the occupants will call this place home till they are called by their Creator to rest in peace. This home is in need of medical supplies & consumables

Small as it may seem, we intend to bring a little joy and cheer into their lives and their smile will say it all.

Why? Because they deserve a life too…

We hope you are able to participate in this cause by spreading the word around, support the cause by purchasing the Coupon (RM10 each) and of course come and join us on August 19 from 9am -5pm at KDU College!

You may purchase the booklet on the day itself and also early purchases can be made from Ms Winnie Chan (now you know why this is posted on Friends of Seaport) or Ms Shirley Goh at +60 3 76609611. Please be assured that it is not our intention to profit from this Carnival, but only to help raise funds for the welfare of the less fortunate folks.

So come and join us for great local delicacies including the famous Sister’s Popiah & Bakin’ Boys Cookies & Muffins, fun games such as Wheel of Fortune, Mini Golf, Dunk-In Games, PS2 FIFA World Cup Challenge, Rock Climbing Paintball Target Shooting, Water Blast and many more!

If you’re lucky you’ll win some of our fantastic prizes such as:
- Original World Wrestling Entertainment T-shirts, Phone Straps & VCDs (courtesy of Sendi Mutiara)
- Children’s Stationery & Toys
- A Hamper worth RM800 sponsored by KDU Management, and last but not least
- A 1-night stay in Eastin Hotel with breakfast for 2 sponsored by Eastin Hotel.

Let’s do what we possibly can to bring smiles to their faces.

Many, many thanks from all of us.

Winnie

LEE Kok Loong Returns
by atai @ 18:02 | Comments (2) | Filed under: updates

Just as the Superman Returns to the big screen, our Man of Steel is also back in Malaysia. Yup, Kok Loong is back for a short vacation (till about end August 2006).

While back home, he can be contacted via his house phone (03-78742689). You can also leave a message for him in the comments section.

Also, I will try to arrange a small mamak session this Friday. Once I firm up on the plan, I’ll just post it in the comments as well.
