This is what greets you when you walk into the school:

My first thought was "Has the students from this school gotten that bad?". Then I realised that the message could be meant for the teachers...
Anyway, somethings never change... Which is sometimes good... The canteen remains the way I remembered it...

Food has gotten better, I guess, from the menu that was posted...

Anyway, back to the AGM... In case you never realised, the Alumni's registered name is actually - THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF SEKOLAH MENENGAH SRI PERMATA PETALING JAYA SELANGOR. *phew*
Good news is we've adopted a shorter name during the AGM - SP Alumni.
The turnout was rather bad, in my opinion considering that the school's been around for more than 20 years and less than 30 people attended the AGM. Oh well, things can only get better.
We have a new committee and they seem very, very serious about getting the Alumni up and running. So I sincerely hope everyone here will give their full support as well. Like any society or organisation, they need our support - be it financially or morally. So do register as a member, ok?
Honestly, there's not much to say about the AGM. The minutes should be up on the Alumni website in a week or two. It will probably be Zaifuddin's first task anyway... Yes, Zaifuddin (or Dean) has been elected Honorary Secretary.
I guess that's all for now...

Seen here are two ex-students saying to each other "Syabas kerana anda hadir ke sekolah"

Going back to Seaport is like journeying through a time capsule. The journey back has been both a nostalgic and sweet reminder of good and bad events.
It was like the feeling that Captain Picard had in Star Trek First Contact when he touched the Phoenix Warp Ship, the very first warp ship to be built. To him, it was both a nostalgic and present reality but all that was in the past. What is it like to meet the man who built the first Warp Ship, shake his hand and touch the ship. Although primitive in his many standards but nevertheless it was the first of a NEW ERA and the marking of a NEW REVELEATION. And he just touch that revelation with his hands. That must be A GREAT FEELING. And he had the opportunity to experience what he read in booksm the life of the late 21st century. The ordinary life of the 20th century. And despite his highly advance Enterprise - E, the inspiration it brought, the meaning, the idea it carried within the shells of her hull was NOTHING compared to the Phoenix warp ship.
For me Seaport was like that. It was the place when I developed many of the techniques which I still used today, although now more advance but that was where they started. I first learnt about flow graphs from physics and it is now highly adopted in my work as a NORM. But that is where it all began. Corporate politics, gossips, defamation and all the stuffs you see in your work today began there too for me.
When I steped into Seaport, I felt a surge of reminders that tells me that everything I knew today has its roots in the primitive, worn down brick walls. It was a nostalgic experience. So many has changed there but to me, it will be always the Seaport in 1993. Amen . . . . . :)

Viji,
You are not the only wrong who mistook the person in the photo. I too initially thought that it was Thambi Loong. Oops :)
The canteen looks so much nicer with the nice tables and chairs. I remember the chairs were lousy rotting wooden ones, and there was always no place to sit. Mee back then was 50 sen (IINM) and used to always stand where ever there is standing space to eat :)
Great stuff Atai. Keep this up!
P/s : BTW, does anyone know what happened to all those Jogathon money that we've collected? Buy the plastic table and chairs?

Dear Kit yieng,
Thambi loong is no other than our Tham Wei Loong, 5 Mars and Nicholas is in the US, a doctor there together with his wife where he also lectures in the university. Yes Nicholas is married. I am not sure which state in the US he is in but if I am right it should be at Minnessota.

Canteen looks much much better since 1993 . Floors are tiled, tables and stools r...soldered together (used to be those wooden benches) And food seems to look tasty...gosh RM1.80 for Asam LAksa! When was the last time I had a bowl for that kind of price? I missed skool days. sigh. Apart from the canteen, the rest of the place looks kinda...gloomy. *shrugs*
